Guava exporter from India

Fresh Indian guava for export — white and pink types, carton packing, HS 08045020. Worldwide quotes, cold chain by destination.

Guava export from India

We quote fresh guava from India for wholesale, retail packing and processing. Variety is the first decision, and it is a logistics decision as much as a taste one: Allahabad Safeda and L-49 are the types usually preferred for sea shipments, because a thicker rind and better keeping quality are what survive the leg. Pink guava is quoted where the market wants it, generally on shorter transits.

Guava is picked at a maturity that matches the journey. Mature green and partly ripe fruit is commonly held around 8–10°C at roughly 90–95% relative humidity, which is where a two-to-three week window comes from. Fruit that is already ripe and soft holds far less — about a week, and colder, nearer 5–8°C. Shipping ripe guava on a long lane does not work, whatever the setpoint says.

That short window is why guava is a harder export than dehydrated ingredients. Gulf and nearer Asian discharges are often sea-viable with the right variety and a tight chain. Long ocean to Europe or the Americas is usually impractical for fresh fruit, and air or a specialised programme is the honest recommendation rather than a booking that arrives soft.

HS 08045020 is the usual tariff line. Documents are the commercial invoice, packing list and phytosanitary certificate. Pack in ventilated cartons with cushioning; guava bruises easily and a mixed load that shifts will cost you more than the freight saved.

FAQ

What temperature should fresh guava ship at?

It depends on maturity, which is the part buyers often miss. Mature green and partly ripe fruit is commonly carried around 8–10°C at 90–95% relative humidity, giving roughly two to three weeks. Fruit that is already ripe wants nearer 5–8°C and holds about a week. Tell us the transit and we will tell you what maturity to pack at.

Which guava variety should I order for sea freight?

Allahabad Safeda and L-49 are the types generally preferred for sea, because the thicker rind and better keeping quality are what get the fruit there sound. Pink guava is quoted where a market wants it, usually on shorter transits. The variety choice is a logistics decision as much as a taste one.

Can you ship guava to Europe or the USA?

We will quote it, but be prepared for an honest answer. Fresh guava on long ocean is usually impractical — the window is too short. Air or a specialised programme may be the only workable route, and we would rather say that than book a sailing that arrives soft.

How long does export guava last?

Roughly two to three weeks for mature green fruit held properly at 8–10°C, and about a week for ripe fruit. Once it is out of the chain at the far end, expect only a few days of shelf life. That is the constraint the whole programme has to be built around.

Do you supply processing-grade guava?

Yes, where the buyer wants pulp or juice raw material. Processing grade has different economics and a different defect allowance from fresh — put the size spec and the allowance in writing and we quote against it.

How should guava be packed?

Ventilated cartons with cushioning. Guava bruises easily, so a load that shifts in transit will cost more in rejected fruit than any freight saved by packing loose. Avoid mixing with ethylene-heavy fruit unless it is agreed and planned.
