Exporting fresh ginger from India to the UAE

The UAE is a well-established discharge for Indian fresh ginger, with Jebel Ali the usual named port for Dubai importers. That does not mean we only ship to the Gulf — we quote worldwide — but this note is specifically about the UAE fresh-ginger lane.

Main Indian ginger availability is often August to February. Carton packing, ventilation, and a short packing-to-sailing window reduce mould risk. Buyers should state washed vs unwashed and size grade.

HS 09101100 is typical. Phytosanitary certificates travel with the lot. If transit looks too long for fresh ginger, we will recommend air rather than force a sea booking.

Foodservice distributors in Dubai and Abu Dhabi often combine ginger with green chilli on the same programme. Ask for a mixed quote if that is your mix.
