Banana powder from India, quoted against your specification

Ripe or green, spray-dried or drum-dried: these are four different products sold under one name. Tell us the application and we will place the right one.

Banana Powder export from India

Banana powder is not one product. Ripe banana powder is sweet, high in natural sugars and used in beverages, bakery and infant nutrition. Green or raw banana powder is starch-rich, nearly neutral in flavour, and sold as a resistant-starch ingredient into the nutraceutical and gluten-free baking trade. A buyer who orders the wrong one gets something unusable, so the enquiry should say which.

The drying method matters as much as the fruit. Spray drying gives a fine, free-flowing powder and usually needs a carrier such as maltodextrin, which must be declared because it affects your label and your nutritional calculation. Drum drying gives a coarser powder without a carrier. Freeze drying gives the best colour and flavour retention at a much higher price. Say which you need, or describe the end product and we will advise.

Colour and flavour degrade with heat and with time. If your product is sold on appearance, specify the colour you need at the enquiry stage so it can be agreed before production rather than argued about after arrival.

Moisture governs caking and shelf life. Write a maximum on the purchase order and we will read the lot's certificate of analysis against it before the cargo loads.

FAQ

Ripe or green banana powder, which do I need?

Ripe if you want sweetness and banana flavour, for beverages, bakery or infant foods. Green if you want resistant starch and a neutral taste, for nutraceutical or gluten-free applications. They are genuinely different ingredients. If you are unsure, describe the end product and we will tell you which buyers in that application take.

Is the powder spray-dried or drum-dried?

Both are available and they behave differently. Spray-dried is finer and free-flowing but usually carries maltodextrin or a similar carrier. Drum-dried is coarser with no carrier. Tell us which your process needs, or describe the process and we will advise.

Does it contain maltodextrin or any carrier?

Spray-dried fruit powders usually do, because the fruit sugars will not dry cleanly without one. The percentage affects your label and nutritional declaration, so we state it in writing on the quote rather than leaving you to discover it on the COA.

What mesh should I specify?

There is no universal standard. Write the mesh or a retained-on-sieve range on the purchase order so lots match your equipment, exactly as you would for onion powder. If you tell us the dosing or blending step, we will suggest a starting point.

What is the shelf life?

Fruit powders are hygroscopic and will cake if they pick up moisture. Shelf life depends on the pack, the barrier and your storage conditions, so we quote it against the pack you actually want rather than printing a generic figure.

Can I get a sample before ordering?

Yes. We send 2 to 3 kg free of material cost and you cover the courier, or we bill it to your own DHL or FedEx account. We ask for the specification first, because a sample of the wrong grade tells you nothing useful.

Are you a manufacturer?

No. We are an export desk in Chikhali, Pune. We agree the specification in writing, place it with a processing partner, verify the lot's COA against your limits and handle the documentation. We say this plainly rather than claim a factory we do not own.
