Segregation is the failure that gets blends rejected, and it is a density problem more than a mesh problem. Components with different bulk densities separate under vibration, so a blend that was uniform leaving the mixer arrives layered. Matching the density of the onion and garlic fraction to the rest of your recipe is worth more than chasing a tighter mesh number.
Granules rather than powder is the usual choice here for a practical reason: powder dusts. A fine cut generates airborne losses at the mixer, coats equipment, and creates a housekeeping problem in a plant already handling chilli and turmeric. Granules in the 26–40 range give flavour release without the dust burden.
Consistency between lots matters more than the absolute figure. A blender calibrates a recipe once and expects it to hold. If the mesh or density moves between deliveries, the ratio you validated no longer produces the same blend — so specify a window and hold us to it rather than accepting a nominal grade.

Why does my masala blend separate in the pack?
Almost always bulk density mismatch between components rather than a mesh problem. Under transit vibration, denser particles migrate down and lighter ones rise, so a blend that was uniform at the mixer arrives layered. Matching the density of the onion and garlic fraction to the rest of your recipe is the fix — tell us your target window.
Granules or powder for a spice blend?
Granules, usually. Powder dusts at the mixer, which is airborne product loss, a coating on your equipment, and a housekeeping issue in a plant already running chilli and turmeric. Granules around 26–40 mesh give flavour release without that burden. Powder makes sense only where the blend goes into a wet application.
Can you hold the same mesh across shipments?
We quote to a band and report the lot's result on the COA. State the window your recipe is validated on rather than a single nominal figure — a validated ratio only stays valid if the input holds, and a band is something we can actually commit to.
Do you supply other dehydrated vegetables for blends?
Our dehydrated line is onion and garlic. We would rather say that plainly than take an order for a range we cannot reliably serve. Both ship dry container and can go on one booking.
